Lysander, the king of Sparta, wanted his son Alcibiades Jr. on one of the two thrones. Agisylaeus was in his 40s and well-liked by all; he walked with a limp. An ancient prophecy foretold sicknesses if Lysander elevated Laotiquidus to throne. Gisylaeus expels Laotiquides from Sparta but takes full possession of royal estates.
