The story of the commanders is about volunteers themselves, they all volunteer for hazardous duty. And yet, you are rite that the sort of aces you can get, those flat bottomed boats as well, into the most shallow waters, is just amazing. It really means that you can get into places the more heavily laden troops can't. So these were extraordinary characters, but none of them boastful. There's a lovely expression: 'There's a lovely twilight to go under the radar'
