The Puritan Life of Samuel Paris

Samuel Paris grew up in a Puritan family on the island of Barbados. His uncle made his fortune selling other human beings, so Samuel wanted to study at Harvard. Three years after arriving in Boston he was forced to return to Barbados when his father died. He sold everything off and headed back north with one of his slaves as well as a small fortune. It was there that he met a physician named William Griggs who had some family north of the city looking for a minister. The village took him on as the minister.
