It was a very, a delicate subject to begin with. No one could have handled it more delicately or with more care than louis mal did. There was never anything overtly done, nothing graphic in that movie. And this ultimate relationship between this 30 year old, 30 something man and 12-year-old girl, the only way i knew to approach it as an actor at the time was i just had to become 12.
