Is Precarity a Political Condition of Social Life?

I think that's a great way to put it, because it really does hit out what the book is about. I don't position myself as an Africanist or an expert on Mozambique,. But I wanted to kind of explore this case like more globally. And in these sites people are still subjected to intense forms of structural symbolic and direct violence associated with capitalist development. The book argues that precarity is not something ontological in human life, but it's a politically constituted vulnerability of social life intensified by the violence of capitalist development.
