The History of Food in the Middle Ages

Dentistry in early medieval Ireland can't have been any better. In a world where there would be no antibiotics, relief was not easy to find. The shadow of death and grieving was if not a constant always close at hand. People believed in ghosts and spirits of all sorts. If a story of someone being carried off by a demon in the dead of night arrived from a neighbouring kingdom you'd believe it. There was no divide between the spiritual and material world. This attitude is only gone very recently as late as 1895 that's just 120 years ago or so.
