I know a lot of Christians and myself included. We take the Bible as some kind of sacred text that we see as a guide to understanding God and Jesus in a very complicated history. So clearly, theology and how we interpret these books matter because you can come away thinking either, oh, Jesus wants me to dominate my enemies and to slaughter everyone who isn't a Christian. There seems to be a massive contradiction of the sermon on the Mount Jesus of loved your enemies and slaughter everyone. And this woman might potentially be raped Jesus.
