Speculative Particle Physics
If what we're learning about the universe is real in a sense that it's not just biased by our human conception, then we can imagine maybe they have discovered the same things. I worry that some of the more speculative attempts to unify fundamental particle physics and large-scale cosmology are butting up against these kinds of limits. Could we have reason to believe that we inhabit a world correctly depicted by this model? There's a tricky question there at the limit. Can we think our way out of our own box? It's certainly unknown. Perhaps neither we need more information, but one of the great achievements of physics has been to increasingly try to break away from a narrowly, provin
