There was just this sense of possibility in the air. Church could be what we made it. We felt both the burden and freedom of making it into something better, more beautiful than what we'd inherited. There was certainly innovation, n creativity, but behind the window dressing of the cultural expression were the same philosophy that had shaped ministry before hibels and warren got to suburbs.
