The Fruit of Extraordinary Milieu

Not everyone who grew to be exceptional was this lucky. There are a few cases of people who rose to greatness despite their non-ideal circumstances, like Romanogen or Michael Faraday. But they too were the fruit of exceptional milieu. They just had to summon it to themselves. John Stuart Mill's father considered raising his children to be of equal importance as his intellectual work. Giving your children access to observe you while you work is in my experience rewarding but draining.
