Megan boiled the crabs in some water with a splash of orange juice and sat down to eat with her husband. Pretty soon she started feeling kind of weird. Anaphylaxis is a full body response to an allergy. Symptoms can be different from person to person but typically the throat swells, making it hard to breathe.

In the past few decades, the rate of food allergies in both children and adults has dramatically increased. What’s causing this rise, and what can we do about it?
