Why Math Is Worth Doing
There's lots of answers to why math is worth doing. For one, it's useful, but not all math is useful. There's some math that a few mathematicians think is going to turn out to be useful. It seems unlikely to ever be useful. Maybe it will be, but it doesn't seem very likely. But mathematicians still feel that there's something intrinsically worth doing about this stuff and why. And it's worth devoting a life to. Why? Well, this is an explanation. It's about the mind of God. That's beautiful in that way. If God is perfectly beautiful, what is the mind ofGod?
