Introduction
The Bible's book of Proverbs first chapter opens up with this picture of wisdom crying out to mankind in the streets, and no one hears her. How do you keep that in check? How do you execute on what you know to be right, even though you're scared or want other things? That's your courage. That's your thumas, your andrea. And I have been talking as if these are virtues of specific parts of the soul. It can't be the case that moral virtue can depend on hyper smartness, right, on being super smart.
