Introduction

Mad Max Fury Road was released in the summer of 2015, a full 30 years since the most recent sequel, 1985's Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. The movie stars an almost entirely new cast, including Tom Hardy as Max Rakatansky and Charlize Theron as Furiosa. Of the eight Best Picture nominees of the 2016 Academy Awards, Fury Road is the only one to not receive a single acting nomination. It grossed $378 million worldwide.
