The Doldrums of Sailing
I left behind all my friends in England and my home in England. So I had kind of mixed feelings on that front. But I love my parents very much and I trusted my father as a sailor. The Southern Indian Ocean is one of the most dangerous bits of ocean in the world. And we were sailing at the wrong way because we were following Captain Cook. We were effectively sailing the wrong way around the world.
