The Importance of Labor in the Working Class
The worker is alienated not only from the product of his labor, but also from nature itself. Only by selling his labor to a capitalist can he maintain himself as a physical being. His labor is therefore not voluntary, but coerced. Our labor is not voluntary, and if you doubt that fact, ask yourself this question: If you or any working person hit the lottery tomorrow, what is the first thing they would do? Quit your job.
