The Importance of Leisure
Almost all societies take some leisure and they accumulate some wealth. Early in our history as a human species, we did that collectively. But in the last few thousands of years, we didn't do it collectively. We did it in three basic forms, slavery, feudalism, and capitalism. And what those three systems have in common marks taught us is that they will be collected for a very small proportion of the people. The more you produce, the more leisure and wealth for the minority that gets it.
