How to Handle Conflicts in the Operating Role

You need to be comfortable being dropped in new places and got to be comfortable developing relationships reasonably quickly. If you are uncomfortable in not having control of your whole environment, not going to be happy. So what other personality traits or experiences lend themselves to the role and are not good for the role? I think people put them on equal footing.
