The Challenges of Prioritizing the Climate Movement
I think that, you know, just from my own experience, particularly when we would try to get the world focused on the agreement in Paris, the clarity of purpose that comes from everybody having an objective and a timeline. That provided this real sense of possibility. What's challenging now, of course, is that now we've moved into the implementation phase where millions and millions of things need to happen well together in different ways. And once you have that level of complexity and nuance in an entire system, it's not so possible to focus on the big political outcomes. So what your very good question hopefully points us to is actually sometimes the climate movement is guilty of trying to prioritize its own thing.
