Is There a Human Brain Map Project?

There might be a lot of ego in this idea of doing human brain map projects. We're not the same people that we are from year to year decade to decade. So it's impossible to map a single brain let alone every brain. One is to understand the human brain so that we can fix problems as they arise. And two is to be able to create a brain that can live outside of a body so That second goal even though you might argue is like the loftiest of all is the one that's most likely not tractable in our lifetime.
