In 15 of 23 major protic categories, amazon captures more than 70 % of on line transactions. More than two thirds of americans no longer go to a search engine where they might type in toy truck and that might lead them to a local toy store. Seven years ago, for every hundred dollars in sales a business made on amazon sight, amazon took an average of 19 dollars in fees to day. That's up to 34 dollars.
