I never really needed a school to tell me to study, I just kept studying and the topics would change after I failed to go get my zoological degree. So I was volunteering for a church in my 30s, roughly a decade and a half after I had lost any chance for college. When I wasn't satisfied there, I would look for more sources and more contexts. Just kept plugging through. Despite the sleep loss, I kept a GPA of 4.0 throughout.
