The Importance of Authenticity at Work
authenticity is inextricably linked to happiness on the job and off. It rests on a sense of belonging, not just in the way we normally use the word belonging as being part of a team effort at work or being accepted into a particular group. So I think it's so rare in a workplace that one is a whole person. People can't find themselves at work. Their values, their ethics, their hopes, their dreams are all shut down for like eight, 14 hours a day,. You know, so it's the possibility of really being present even if you don't know the answer to something.
