The Pre-Incarnate State of Our Lord

Psalm 46 through eight predates the incarnation. The words refer us back of the Psalm to something previously recorded in God's book. In this sense, being plain and natural and unforced I see no reason why I should not acquiesce in it. John Gill has big long quotations that I could read, but I'm not going to. Owen says this, they deny that these are the words of him. And resolved and spoken before his coming. He that did not exist before in the divine nature could not promise to come in the human.
