Lela tukayama, a human robot interaction researcher based in santa cruz, was among the first to discover ross. In two thousand nine she came to willow garage, where she brought a human centred perspective that was sometimes missing among all the robot fanatics. Taka yama would insist that user studies be run like real world scenarios. She also pushed from greater documentation. And slowly, year by year, the ross community gathered its own momentum. It became coherent, letting more and more people join in. As of 20 12, ross is thriving at a new organization called open robotics that's devoted to its development.
