The Battle of Mantgarus

After a fierce battle at the base of mantgarus, fiercer than the romans expected, the samnites were routed. It was not an easy victory and put the romans on notice that they were not fighting molcian raiders any more. Cassus in samnium almost blundered his way into the destruction of his own army, but was saved by one of his tribunes.
