If you're in any field of computer science today, based on some of my peers that are doing their PhDs, they can't get funding for anything unless there's the word deep learning or neural network anywhere in there. And this creates like sort of a monoculture, like incremental improvements. I think what you can do is instead of like, let's say appealing to the NSF, you could find someone you really admire on Twitter, who's really rich, tell them like, look, this is what I'm gonna do.
