Histories of the Transgender Child

The anti-trans politics currently fueling right-wing reaction is fundamentally centered upon the figure of the trans child. The entire conflict, however, is premised on the conventional wisdom that trans children are something new. In fact, they are not. My interview today is with Jules Gil Peterson, a historian at Johns Hopkins University and the author of histories of the transgender child.
