Mastodon is written largely in ruby and it uses sidekick for a lot of it spins off little little cues little jobs every time anything interesting happens. I have heard from some people that it may not be the most efficient but there's actually a scheduling opportunity here so if you start a worker cue it's very arbitrary right like what this specific cue going to actually do? There's a good chance that like some of them might overlap or there might be these unnecessary waiting periods in between where one cue kicks off to process and another one kicks off. So we're kind of back into this like old cron job mentality of like you know every day at 2 30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays
