We can listen to the thing, but not ourselves, necessarily. It doesn't work for us to undo it. You know, find that person whose words awaken your heart with he desire for the great way then forget everything else. Sometimes its a mystic is not even in our own tradition. Its in the bagavagida, or in the suitors of the buddha,. Or the sayings of rumi and the zuvi masters. And sometimes we can approach it that way, also, a poet, or in an art museum, where the artist is a visual mystic.
