The aisle between the galley bulkheads effectively throttled the flow restricting the exit rate to lessen the potential capacity of the two four doors. The Ford cabin crew members reacted commendably and with courage, remaining on board until they were on the point of being overcome by smoke themselves. A number of survivors clearly owe their lives to the direct actions of the percir and the number four stewardess.
