The Witches of Varus

Rituals and rites are mentioned in the book but this is negative. This is getting at somebody she no longer likes. She's trying to win back a former lover called Varus who doesn't seem that appealing actually. I think he's meant to be a marker of her desperation that he won critic has described him as being aged and overly perfumed. So in line with poisonous not always being successful, canidia has previously been unsuccessful.
