The Importance of Reversing Old Egyptian Stories

There's strong evidence to suggest that this is Jesus repackaging an old Egyptian story about a reversal, about how things are in the next life. And then it gets even more descriptive as this rich man is eating and he's clothed in purple. It says in verse 20 that the beggar whose name was Lazarus was laid at his gate full of sores and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. So I think Jesus is basically pulling another reversal in front of his audience.
