Air Fryer
Producer Simon cooked chicken legs and jacket potatoes in an air fryer. He then ran some maths looking at the unit cost of electricity, etc. To cook either the chicken or the jacket potato, you use more than double the energy to do it in the oven. Cooking in the air fryer uses less than half of the energy required for both dishes. The government has introduced a cap on how much people can pay per kilowatt-hour - but that could be changed by next year.
