The Effect of Quantitative Monitoring on Neuromuscular Blockade

In 2008, a study found that intraoperative accelerography monitoring reduces the risk of residual neuromuscular blockade and adverse respiratory events in the PACU. The train of four ratios were higher in the group that got quantitative monitoring 0.98 versus 0.88. Subjective weakness was lower in theGroup that got quantitativemonitoring. It wasn't hugely lower, an average of four versus six, but it was statistically significant.
