Complicit Reading Is the Birth of You as a Writer
I first picked up the phrase earlier today from one of your Instagram videos itself but I've been speaking about the concept for a long time with my students. complicit reading is where you are with the writer and seeing all the tools and how they are using their craft to create a particular effect on the reader. My guess is that at that moment where you begin complicit reading that is the birth of you as a writer and it is the death of you asa reader or a reader who enjoys reading.
