How Do We Get From No Written Language to Written Language?

The Slavic world was being prepared for conversion to Christianity, somewhere else. The first Slavic state is the Grand Duchy of Moravia, which is first mentioned in the year 822. In order to convert them, their tool was a written language. As Slavic speakers, they generated a Slavic language called Old Church Slavonic. It's accepted by the Pope as a third legitimate language aside from Greek and Latin.
