The more shocking the headline, the more clicks it's going to attract. A lot of people look to science for certainty - but when they don't get them then use uncertainty as an us-to-them argument. Certainty is comforting, and certainty is quick. And uncertainty is unsettling and slow to understand, to estimate. So again, hu know, humans always seek certainty, just like they seek and borders and boundaries and tribes,. You know, them and us. It's all kind of wrapped up in the same thing.
