Education Play or Pastime?
We assert that music belongs among the most pleasant things, both by itself and with melody museus. It is reasonable to expect it to be brought into social gatherings and pastimes as being capable of providing good cheer. So that on this account as well, one might conceive that younger persons should be educated in it. Of the three, we raised questions about whether education play or pastime, it is reasonable to arrange it under all of them. We evidently partakes in all. For play is for the sake of rest. And rest must necessarily be pleasant, as it is a sort of healing of the pain coming from exertions.
