In the 1970s, America was involved in a war in Vietnam. It borrowed a lot of money to fund that war. You had the oil shock where the OPEC nations decided to punish the US for its support of Israel. And all of a sudden, the world went into what was called stagflation. Does this sound familiar to anyone? But a new era was born in the world and it's now ending.
