The Morality of Sandman 1967's Plan
There's no obvious philosophical theological or ethical issue with Sandman 1967's plan that I can think of. A lot depends on how they operate on occasions where someone reaches 100 and says heck no I do not want my brain uploaded nor do I want to be killed. This raises some fair questions. Is Sandman 1967 morally obliged to give that person a shuttle and let them leave? Can they just shrug, hit the button and ascend that person to the digital life and see if they're still complaining afterward. There also might not be any place for them to go.
