Malinsin Is a Symbol of Central American Languages
Malinsin is one of the most enigmatic characters in this story. She was born some time around the year 15 hundred somewhere in the region where the aztec empire met the mayon heart lands. Some sources suggest that her family even faked her death to avoid the stigma that might come with selling your children. When she was finally given to cortes and his men as a tribute by the chief of poton chan, she was a veritable dictionary of central american languages.
