The Presumptuousness of Buffing

Paul is pointing to their presumptuousness. But you and I boast all the time about things that we received. We don't need people to boast in us because Jesus boasts in us. The very applause that you want has already received the applause of nail scarred hands. In those moments, just as tempted to look when we feel threatened from condemnation, we need to look to Christ who commends our commendation. That's what Paul would offer us this morning.
