Mary was at the feet of Jesus being trained, just all the other people are. And we have somehow reduced this to whether she's having a day off or whether Martha's a busybody. We see him affirming her choice to step out of the expectations of the day and learn from him. I think it's powerful for us as women when we're the only one in the room.
