CNN's John Sutter was inspired by his work to write a book about optimal stopping. In it, he looks at the problem of finding your best opportunity without knowing what else is out there. He gives an example: A film producer in San Diego who interviewed 30 female candidates for a job. The very last one tried to kiss him on the lips as an exit interview and she got the job.
