In fantasy, perhaps more than any other type of story, those beats are most often aligned to that of the classic hero's journey or other archetypal journeys. For example, a dragon and a taganist might be a literal dragon in a fantasy story. Because fantasy stories are notoriously long, the timing of the story's major structural turning points doesn't have to be as precise as in shorter stories.
