The new right does claim to want a more intervention os social welfarest state. That's a great point, and it does harmonize these seemingly contradictory impulses. And also gives lie to any of the credulous instincts on the left that there'stat this right wing populaism actually looks something like our style of galitarian governments. But you have to keep in mind that the the state power as as as a first principle, come comes first. The galtarian outcomes are a secondary if, if they are ever achieved. They will only, of course, be achieved for certain kinds of subjects.
