Do You Think Elkhart Was a Natural Mystic?
Ekhart found that mysticism perhaps the best way to teach others. He never calls it mysticism, but what later theologians called apothatic mysticism. This is a different type of mysticism from visions and ecstatic experiences. Ekhart would these are things you know from within. They are notThings you know from without. And this is something that he shares with augustine, is that there's something inside of us that is already there.
