The Story of Carrie's Parental Alienation
In court documents filed during the long custody battle, Michelle accused Lloyd of something called parental alienation. Essentially, she accused Lloyd of purposefully pitting Michelle's own daughters against her. Parental alienation is not widely recognized in the psychological community, nor widely accepted in the legal system. Proponents say that it should be recognized as a diagnosable mental health disorder among children. Some even equate it to the kind of manipulation that happens in cults.
