Is There a Problem at the Identity Level?

Most churches apply the solution of the cross to the level of behavior I've behaved poorly Jesus died for my sin or my bad behavior and then he rose again so that I can behave better That's religion in a nutshell. But here's the problem Sin at the behavior level is really an indication that there's a problem at a deeper level. So I choose to focus most of my preaching at the identity level.
